We have been in our house for 2 months now which is very hard to believe! We have added new blinds to the morning room and upstairs bedroom, painted the family room, morning room and part of the kitchen. We got our new amish kitchen table which is so spacious compared to our old table and ordered new couches for the family room which should be delived in a few weeks. I got to mingle with a few more of the neighbors at our monthly wine night. Everyone is super nice. The lots on the street have been selling really fast. In all I believe there are only 4 more left. Hope to have a date picked for our housewarming party soon and then the invites will be sent. Can’t wait to celebrate our new home with everyone.
I received a call from our mortgage company that our documents filed and the keys to our new home are ready and waiting to be picked up! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
It’s official, we signed all of our closing documents this morning. The documents were taken downtown for recording and by close of business today we will officially be new homeowners!!! I still can’t believe it.
9 more days then the house we had built will officially be ours. Now all that’s left is what I like to call house keeping. Fixing minor dings in the walls, vaccuming the carpet, cleaning the Windows, counters and everything in between. Our door was painted burgundy today and our address added to the third car garage. Thursday we are having the house inspected and Friday is our final walk through with our PM.
Showed up at our house today and finally we have lights. All the light fixtures and plates for the electrical outlets were installed. So we went around the house testing out all the switches to see what switches control what lights. Boy was it nice not to have to use a flashlight to see!
The stonework for our fireplace is complete. Well except a few stones that are getting replaced next week. I’ve always wanted a fireplace and now I finally have one. Yeah!
The sinks, counters and mirrors for our bathrooms were installed. No upgrades here as we want to replace them at some point with darker cabinets, granite counters and square sinks.
The moment I have been waiting for for weeks was finally here. Our kitchen was installed. Well everything except the decorative molding on the tops of the cabinets and our appliances.
All the cabinets, counters, sink and floor have been installed. After switching our mind on the cabinets from a lighter color to a much darker cherry bordeaux and disagreeing on several flooring choices before selecting the final that would be ours, I wasn’t sure how it would all come together. But after seeing it, it’s amazing!!! I never knew I could love a kitchen so much. 😉
